About
Here's my first ever Unity game :3 Controls: - look with the mouse - left click to take/swap glyph parts. - Escape to pause and bring up a menu (and get your mouse controls back :P ) Goal: - put the glyphs back in order to get points - if the time bar shrinks to nothing the game ends - when all glyphs are solved, more come in and you get more time - get the highest score you can! (aim for platinum rank :D) The files above are my new '7 day' version which was a combined total of 7 days work. If you want to play the old '3 day' version I hacked together for the deadline the urls are below: OLD WINDOWS STANDALONE OLD LINUX STANDALONE OLD WEBPLAYER There's a bunch of stuff I'd have still like to have added to this but overall I feel like I've come away having learned a lot and it's been fun. I fully intend to expand this into a proper game called 'Glyph Core' (the abstract subtitle for this version is to show it has no theme) The new Glyph Core include a raft of stuff including characters, story, music, decent graphics, etc) Anyhoo enjoy! :D

Got 40 points. Ran out of time after solving 2 puzzles in third stage.

Heh, I found myself getting stuck at about 90 most times until i got my head around the quirks of the pig. I suspect the pig and dog will make most people get confuzzled :3

Pretty cool! :D The time limit is too short though! :( Or i'm just bad? one or the other :D
Geminosity says...
Thanks dark! :D I tried to make the limit enough to do 4 puzzles as fast as I could... I wanted gold rank to be hard to get ;D Based on some feedback I've gotten I'm beginning to wonder if a better format for this would be dividing the puzzles into levels (with each having more glyphs and stuff) rather than having a single arcade gauntlet/highscore chase like I currently do :P If anyone feels like they enjoy the current way or they'd prefer to do it in a more traditionally segmented style (like dark's flip-flop for example :D ) then let me know. All feedback is awesome to me as I'd like to flesh the heck out of this :3

Love the game concept - could see this appealing to my kids as well. I think levels with a speed run/time bonus would be an excellent way to see this progress.

Coolies! :D That sounds like a good idea. I was thinking of maybe a story mode with levels and a complimentary gauntlet mode somewhat like this (with some tweaks) maybe then :3

Thanks, glad you liked it :3

Good Game, Some bugs which I encountered, forced me to not be able to continue by not recognizing the image being completed. Score : 4070 Image : http://i.imgur.com/PRroIsm.png

4070... I think we have a winner for top score XD I'll look into the bug you encountered. I'm planning on rejigging my quickly scraped together code into something more robust so hopefully I'll catch it while I'm in there :3 Glad you enjoyed it inspite of the puzzle getting stuck though :D

Glad to see you made it out the other side @Geminosity !

Geminosity says...
Thankies sky! Its great seeing someone play through as it gives me a good look at how people go about solving the glyphs. It's extremely useful :D
Cheeseness says...
Oh oh, also, thank you so much for a Linux build ^_^
Geminosity says...
No worries, someone else mentioned they were on linux and couldn't play the webplayer so that's what prompted me to do it in the first place :3
