For 7DFPS, Ben (@SunraHeadgear
) and I (@klicktock
) have developed the core concept for a (hopefully) much larger infinite voxel roguelike filled with secrets.
We decided, against all better judgement to do an overly ambitious game. I would have been happy, at the end of the week, just to have a cool procedural world to walk around in (with maybe one enemy). However the gods of productivity smiled down upon us and we've been able to produce a fully fledged game. We want to produce a game that can be played alongside a wiki. I hope you share your experience with Discoverie with others.

For the generation algorithm I cribbed from Sean Barrett's "Herringbone Wang" paper
. The results are fantastic, though - if this is developed into a larger game, I have a more complicated "vertical" algorithm in mind.
