Alpacalypse!
So, we realized after Day 5 that Synchronous would never get done, even to a playable state, by the end of 7dfps. We decided to cut our losses and spend the rest of the time throwing together a smaller game by reusing some stuff from last year's 7dfps, with some major improvements of course. We do plan on continuing work on Synchronous, but here's a stupid, broken, fun game to hold you over! http://14bit.itch.io/alpacalypse Alpacalypse is an entirely accurate recreation of the 2012 apocalypse, pieced together through hundreds of hours of interviews and research. With stunning graphics and a true story, some are calling the game of the century. Synchronous - Day 5
Progress is slow. We only have a few hours to work on it each day because of school, and we are beginning to worry about finishing in time. We have turn-based movement/shooting working, you can kind of shoot (the bullet goes the wrong way), and we added more graphics and a working UI. You can't reload the gun yet. Because of technical issues, we have decided to cut the turns down to one move per turn. Also, the first map is half done! In other news, we lost our networking guy, so we are going for local multiplayer split-screen instead of online play. =(

Synchronous - Day 1
Here's the plan: an online multiplayer turn-based first person shooter. I am doing the code, one of my friends is doing art, and I've got two others on networking. Let's see if we can do it in a week! The basic idea is that each turn consists of two moves. You plan what to do for those moves (one could be moving, another could be reloading) and wait for the timer. When the timer hits zero, everything happens. Everyone moves/shoots/slashes/etc. You see the results, then the timer starts over and you plan the next move. It's also inspired by some roguelikes, so one hit and you're dead. Here's the team: 14bit (132435az) - Code/Design TheMonkOfTime - Art/Design metrunui - Networking/UI Design Vraihomme - Server Hosting Today we got some basic art, hexagonal grid-based movement works, and we have begun networking. I don't have anything to show today, but I will (hopefully) by tomorrow.
